Cagiva Mito 500 To Be Powered By Hyosung 650 Twin

I was reading through the threads at Korider.com and ran across a rumor that Cagiva might be building a Mito 650 powered by the Hyosung GT650 engine. It would not surprise me if it were true. Hyosung builds a strong, reliable power plant and they are not afraid to share it. In fact it is in thier best interest to let others help build the Hyosung brand.

The Mito would be the second 650 twin in Cagiva’s line-up. The Suzuki 650 powered Raptor was wrapped in red tape to keep it from taking sales from the SV650. Hyosung would not need to worry about losing GT650 sales to the Mito as it would no doubt be a higher price point.

Lifan LX-250 Post

I found a review of a Lifan LX-250 Quad.

Size is good for a 6ft adult.
Like the Kazuma, got faster as we put more hours on it.
Gearing is lame. 1st is only good for steep climbs. All others are too tall and make you work to get in the powerband.
Shifter is very tough to get used to. Does not shift clean & is hard to get neutral sometimes.
Carbs required little tuning. Ran good out of the box.
Better suspension than the Kazuma. Not as much travel it seems, but it never felt like it was bottoming out.
Reverse keeps coming out of adjustment. Made it very difficult when this happens out on the trail (thing is heavy to push).
A little scarry at high speeds. It will do over 40mph.

Lifan GS200 Owner

Here is a post from a Lifan GS200 owner out on alsportbike.com

The guy says it will do 80 mph. Impressive for a 200cc machine.

Lifan Race Motors

I saw this Lifan post out on thumpertalk.

I did some searching on ebay and found this…

200cc Lifan Race Motor

That is a great idea. Take inexpensive motors that are basically built with Honda’s machinery and specification, hop them up and sell them on ebay.

The Big 4

Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki.

I have been reading about these brands since I was a kid. They are great motorcycles and their market share and the loyalty of their customers proves it. I have owned a few of each.

They are great, reliable, well build and boring. I am glad new companies from China, Tiawan and Korea are here to stir things up a little. The next 10 years are gonna be very interesting for the motorcycle industry and more importantly, motorcycle owners.
